Friday June 12, 2009 all American television stations must transmit their programming digitally. Great! , you might say, and it is all well and good if you don’t happen to live in Canada and have an older antenna for your reception, which is my case. Try as I might I can’t get the programming to come in. I lost my first CBS affiliated station in February and thought I would be S O L with all the stations until the US government issued a reprieve until June 12, when all American stations “must” comply and go digital. Well, here we are, June 12, and I am stuck with no U.S. programming. That sucks because I’m hooked on The Bachelorette and don’t want to miss an episode. I really like Gillian and want to watch her adventure not mention that she is Canadian.
Anyway, what do I do? Get an new antenna head? I could, but that will take about a week or more and then we have to get it installed. A big job, since the tower is already in place and maybe that won’t do what I want it to. Do I call a cable company and get hooked up which I can’t because there is no cable available in our area. Do I call one of the local satellite providers and spend an amazing amount of money to own a satellite system which I then have to pay for monthly. Do I go to a satellite system where you can pirate the signals and risk the chance of getting caught? Or, do I just sit back and let all this pass me by ? I can’t do that or I’ll miss my programming. Don’t get me wrong some Canadian networks do carry American programming but not always the ones I want to see.
So, I decided to hop on the internet and check out my options there. I had heard from some friends that I could just download some of the programmes and watch them whenever I want. Well, I tried to download some U.S. programming directly from the network’s website but to no avail “not available in your area” kept popping up on my screen. What to do? I was very frustrated but I began to search and “voila”.
Today I discovered that I can get a software programme that will let me get television programming on my computer and it isn’t going to break the bank. In fact is is only a one time reasonable fee with an immediate download.
I couldn’t wait to try it and now I just have to pass this information onto you. Click Here! if you want to find out what I discovered. I think you will be happy you did. Just think no,cable bills, no antenna and no satellite attached to your house or the costly monthly charges. Go ahead give it a try. Why experience any more frustration over not catching your favorite programme
Happy Viewing!
